A low horizon runs across the middle of this abstract seascape. Above it, a cream and soft beige sky is built up in rough, scraped layers, brightening to a pale white glow just left of centre where the sun seems to sit behind haze.
Below the horizon the water shifts from deep navy on the left to bright turquoise and teal in the foreground. Small flecks and streaks of gold and copper are scattered across the surface like light on ripples, and a ragged band of ochre marks the far shoreline. The surface looks thick and textured, with visible brush and knife marks.
