A male lion stands facing the viewer on a plain white background, his head turned slightly and his dark eyes looking straight out. The mane is long and shaggy, drawn with loose white streaks that mark individual strands, while thin black lines trace the nose, mouth, shoulder and legs.
The whole animal is washed in ochre, honey and burnt orange, with darker brown patches through the mane and chest and a mottled, paper-like texture across the body. It reads as a digital illustration with a watercolour feel. The tail curls at the lower left, and a small signature sits near the lower right edge.
