About Green Splats
Rounded blots of teal and emerald scatter across a pale off-white ground, thinned so the paint pools darker at the edges and fades to soft wash in the centres. The largest blot sits near the top, with a smaller, more saturated one below and left of centre. Two patches of bright lemon yellow appear at the lower left, stippled rather than solid. Fine flecks and pinpricks of olive, aqua and a single dot of navy drift across the right side, where vertical drips run down through the wash.
This is a light, loose painting with the feel of spilled ink on wet paper, kept quiet by the amount of bare white around the marks.
Works in bright rooms with white or pale grey walls: a hallway, bedroom, bathroom or a home office above a desk. It sits well with pale timber, rattan and linen, and picks up green from indoor plants. Hang it alone rather than in a group so the white space around the splats stays open.
