A horizontal seascape built from layered, scraped bands of colour. The top third is a heavy sky of slate and navy blue, broken by streaks of white and pale blue that read as cloud or breaking surf. Visible brush and scraper marks give the sky a rough, textured surface.
Below it, a narrow band of olive and sage green marks the sea. The foreground is pale cream and white sand with patches of ochre and tan. Three flat grey rocks sit on the shore, two on the left and right edges of the middle ground and a larger one low in the centre, each with a soft shadow beneath.
