About Electric Guitar Blue
A single semi-hollow electric guitar stands upright and fills the full height of this tall narrow composition. The long neck runs from a gold headstock with six tuning pegs at the top, down a fretboard dotted with dark block inlays, to a rounded double-cutaway body at the base. The body is broken into patches of yellow, lime, orange, red and turquoise, with the f-hole, pickups and bridge suggested rather than drawn precisely. The background is built from short choppy blocks of cobalt, royal blue, teal and near-black.
The character is loose and graphic, closer to a poster than a portrait of an instrument. Flat colour patches and hard edges give it energy, while the strong blue field keeps the bright body reading clearly from across a room.
Suited to a tall narrow wall beside a doorway, in a hallway, or in a music room, home office or teenager's bedroom.
