A timber boat sits head-on at the centre of a square frame, its bow rising to a vertical stem post with a metal band around it. The planks run in warm brown and amber lines that curve down either side, finished with a dark rim along the top edge of the hull.
Above it a seagull with mottled grey-brown wings hangs in mid-air, head tilted down toward the boat. Fog fades the water and sky into soft grey and white, and the hull is mirrored faintly below. The scene looks like a composited photograph, with a single warm shape against pale, empty space.
