About Huntington Pier
A long timber pier runs from the right edge deep into the frame, its piles casting dark rhythmic lines on wet sand. At the far end sits a tower-like building with a pitched roof and aerials, with smaller pavilions further along. Rows of lamps glow amber above the deck. The sky grades from deep blue at the top through violet to pale cream and orange along the horizon. Low surf rolls in at the left, blurred into soft white bands by a long exposure.
In the foreground the tide has left a mirror of wet sand where the pier lights repeat as broken gold streaks. The mood is calm and quiet, the last light of the day rather than full sunset colour, with the structure read mostly as silhouette.
Suits a coastal or beach house living room, a bedroom above the bedhead, or a home office wall that needs depth. The panoramic shape works over a sideboard or sofa.
