Two clusters of creamy white hydrangea blooms rise on a short stem against a deep black, crackled background on the left half of the square. Broad green leaves with serrated edges fan out beneath and between the flower heads. Each floret is a small four-petalled shape with a pale yellow centre, built up in thick, textured strokes.
The right half is a tall cream panel with a scrolling black damask pattern of curling leaves and stems, its surface scratched and layered like plaster. A green band with a black lattice border runs along the bottom left beneath the flowers. A small signature sits in the bottom right corner. The palette is limited to black, cream and olive green.
