Five white orchid heads cluster at the top of a tall, narrow vase in near-black plum. The petals are built up in thick, ridged strokes that catch the light like wet plaster, and each flower has a small dark centre flecked with brown. Behind the blooms sit slabs of charcoal and black that read as leaves or a dark backdrop.
Thin black spikes shoot up to the top left, while twisted, wiry brown stems spill down over the vase and curl toward the lower right. The background is a soft grey and cream wash with faint streaks of sand colour behind the flowers. The vase stands on a plain white tabletop, and a small red signature sits in the bottom left corner.
