A cluster of bearded irises fills the frame in watercolour, their ruffled petals washed in lilac, violet and soft blue. Several blooms open toward the viewer, each with an orange-yellow beard at the throat, while a few tight purple buds point upward at the left and top. Pink blushes the base of one central petal.
Behind the flowers a loose teal and green wash bleeds down from the top edge, broken by sharp blade-shaped leaves in lime, olive and yellow. White paper shows through in the petals as highlights, and the pigment pools and runs in soft edges. The bottom right corner carries a small signature in pencil-like script.
