A long timber jetty runs straight from the bottom of the frame to the centre, its grey-brown planks narrowing to a single vanishing point. Rows of round weathered posts line both sides, large and detailed in the foreground and shrinking to small marks in the distance.
The water is flat and milky, and it merges with a pale white sky so there is no clear horizon. The palette is soft grey, silver and muted brown. A small post stands at the far end of the jetty. It is a quiet, symmetrical photograph with grain and cracks visible in the old wood.
