A long timber jetty runs straight up the centre of a tall portrait frame, its planks narrowing toward a small end platform with two posts. The boards are grey-brown and worn, with gaps and uneven edges, and a few loose pieces stick out at the bottom right corner.
Short, steep waves roll in from both sides, their crests breaking white over dark green-blue water. Shingle and stones show at the lower edge. The horizon sits high, under a sky of soft pink and peach with heavy grey clouds and a small patch of pale blue at the top. It is a photograph with a moody, windswept feel.
