A large bouquet fills most of this portrait canvas, built from thick, loose strokes of white and cream. The blooms read as open white petals, with no fine detail, set against a pale ivory background that shows through between the flowers and gives the whole piece a bright, airy feel.
Small patches of deep maroon, cobalt blue, tomato red and mustard yellow are scattered through the white, with touches of olive green and teal. Below, a tall vase is suggested by vertical streaks of white and a dark blue central stripe. Visible ridges and drips give it the texture of heavy palette-knife work.
