About Blue Tide Mosaic
The canvas is filled edge to edge with short, flat strokes laid down with a palette knife, each one a small slab of colour with a clean squared edge. Cobalt and ultramarine dominate the upper left, broken by darker near-black blues that read as shadow between the blocks. A band of white and pale turquoise runs diagonally from the lower left corner towards the centre, the thickest paint on the canvas, catching light along its ridges. Down the right side the palette shifts to mint, olive and pale yellow-green.
No single object is described; the interest sits in how the knife-laid blocks tile together like mosaic tesserae, with the white diagonal cutting a bright path through them. The effect is cool, watery and busy up close, calmer and more ordered from across a room.
The cool blues and mint greens suit a bathroom, bedroom or hallway with white or pale grey walls. Its tall portrait shape fits a narrow wall beside a door, a stairwell, or above a slim console.
