About Blossom Tree Cottage
A single blossom tree fills most of the canvas, its dome of magenta and pale pink petals flicked on in short palette-knife dabs with yellow and green flecks scattered through. Thin dark branches fan out from a slender trunk that rises just right of centre. Below sits a small stone gatehouse with a timber door, a shingled porch roof and walls built from blue-grey and ochre stones. A yellow-flowered hedge runs left, and a green grassy slope falls away to the right where two tiny figures stand on a path.
The background is left as bare cream with only a faint green hill at the right edge, so the tree reads as a burst of colour against empty space. Texture is the point here: the petals and grass stand proud of the canvas in thick ridges, while the sky stays flat and quiet.
Suits a bright living room, hallway or bedroom with white or pale grey walls, where the cream background reads as part of the room. Works with pale timber, rattan and linen, and with green indoor plants. Good above a sideboard or low bookshelf, or in a dining room paired with a plain pink or olive cushion.
