About Autumn Birch Blaze
A stand of slender birch trunks fills the canvas, their canopies packed with knife-laid leaves in crimson, scarlet, tangerine and hot magenta. The left group leans pink and red, the centre burns orange and gold, and a taller red crown closes the right edge. Pale ice-blue sky shows through narrow gaps between the crowns and down a bright channel at right of centre. Trunks are streaked with white, pink and grey barring, standing in a dark maroon and teal understorey along the lower edge.
The paint sits high on the surface in short flat strokes and ridges, so the leaves catch light and the sky looks scraped thin by comparison. The character is bold and warm rather than quiet, a hot autumn wall of colour with cool blue relief.
A strong warm anchor for a living room above a low sofa, a dining wall, or the end of a hallway. It works against white, grey or charcoal walls and pairs with timber floors, rattan, black metal frames and linen in cream or clay. Keep nearby colours neutral so the reds carry the room.
