About Blue Vortex Spiral
A single spiral fills the square canvas, built from short palette-knife strokes laid end to end in concentric rings. The rings tighten to a small pale knot slightly above and left of centre, then widen outwards until they run off all four edges. Colour shifts from near-white and pale violet around the inner rings to turquoise through the middle band, then deep cobalt and indigo in the lower left and along the corners, where the strokes sit darkest and heaviest.
Each stroke is raised enough to catch light along its ridge and drop a thin shadow behind it, so the whole surface reads as scales or ripples rather than flat paint. The character is calm but in motion, like water circling a drain or a slow whirlpool seen from directly above.
Works above a bed, a bath or a low sideboard where the spiral can be seen straight on. The cool blues suit white or pale grey walls, timber floors and linen bedding, and it sits well with chrome or brushed nickel fittings.
