About Purple Blossom Tree
A single tree fills the tall canvas, its trunk drawn as one long S-curve in black and charcoal grey, widening at the base and tapering as it bends to the right. From the top, fine dark branches arch outward and fall in long trailing strands, each hung with small five-petal blossoms in violet, lilac and deep plum. Olive green leaves sit between them. The background is left plain white with a few dry scrapes of beige and grey near the corners.
Every blossom is laid on with a palette knife, so the petals stand proud of the canvas with a small dark dot pressed into each centre. The result is a quiet, decorative piece that reads as texture first and colour second.
The narrow portrait shape suits a hallway end wall, a stairwell, or the space between two doorways. It works in a bedroom above a low dresser, or beside a white bathroom vanity.
