About Golden Village Pond
Three cream-walled cottages with rust-red tiled roofs sit in the middle distance, linked by a low white picket fence that runs along a mown green field. A pale dirt path curves in from the right foreground, rising towards the houses, with a clump of scarlet poppies and green blades planted at its edge. On the left, a blue pond is laid in short horizontal knife strokes of cobalt, white and pale aqua, bordered by rust-orange scrub and slender bare saplings.
Trees in yellow, apricot and russet crowd both sides under a near-white sky, and the field is worked in thick slabs of chartreuse and gold. The character is warm and settled: bright autumn colour applied in flat knife planes, with the red flowers and red roofs carrying the eye across the picture.
Suits a living room, dining room or hallway with warm neutral walls, timber floors and cane or oak furniture. The gold and rust tones work with cream linen, terracotta pots and brass lamps, while the blue pond picks up denim or navy upholstery. Good above a sideboard or a low bookcase.
