About Woodland Creek Path
A wide woodland scene opens down the centre, where a clearing of pale sky and soft light draws the eye between two stands of tall, slim-trunked trees. A narrow creek runs from the far clearing into the foreground, its surface catching reddish-brown and grey reflections. A cream stone path crosses the water on a low bridge with thin white posts and curves out to the left. Grassy banks in yellow-green and ochre rise on the right, with rust and copper foliage beyond.
Paint is laid on thickly with a knife, so the grass, path and tree canopies sit in ridges that catch the light, while red and white wildflowers are flicked in along the lower edge. The overall character is calm and sunlit, a quiet bush walk caught at the turn of the season.
Suits a long wall in a living room, hallway or dining room where its width can be seen from a distance. It works with timber furniture, jute rugs, linen sofas and cream or sage walls, and sits well above a sideboard, low bookshelf or bedhead in a warm, neutral room.
