About Tusker Approach
A single African elephant faces the viewer, filling the centre of a landscape canvas. The ears spread wide to both edges in dark charcoal and deep green-black, loaded on with broad knife strokes that leave visible ridges. The forehead and trunk are built from short blocks of olive, grey-blue and pale gold, so the hide reads as slabs of colour rather than drawn detail. Two tusks curve inward, painted in ivory white with a warm orange edge that lifts them off the darker ears and shadowed mouth.
The background is scraped cream and sand, dragged vertically with a wide blade so pale streaks run down past the animal's legs. It gives a big, quiet animal a bold graphic presence, calm in pose but heavily worked in paint.
Suits a living room feature wall above a low sideboard, a hallway with warm white or sand-coloured walls, or a study with timber and leather furniture. The cream ground keeps it easy alongside linen sofas and jute rugs, while the charcoal ears pick up black frames, iron lamps and dark joinery.
