About White Rhino Profile
A rhinoceros head fills the right half of a square canvas, turned in three-quarter profile so the front horn sweeps out toward the lower right edge. The paint is laid on with a knife in flat slabs and ridges: cream and off-white across the brow and cheek, rust and ochre through the muzzle and ear, charcoal shading under the jaw and in the dark eye. The background is bare warm white with scraped, chalky texture, and a loose brown wash trails down at the left like a shadow.
The heavy knife work leaves real edges and gaps in the paint, so the animal seems built from broken plates rather than drawn. It reads as calm and weathered rather than aggressive.
Suits a neutral lounge room, hallway or study where the wall is white, grey or timber-panelled. The cream ground lets it sit quietly above a linen sofa or sideboard.
