A village of terracotta-roofed houses steps up a steep hillside along the right of the image, their walls in rust red, pink and ochre. Green shutters and window boxes of red and pink flowers line the balconies. Tall dark cypress trees and autumn-toned foliage in orange and green rise behind the rooftops and fill the upper corner.
In the foreground a weeping willow stands in a round stone planter on a pale shingle shore, while a long timber pier with a railing and ladder reaches into the lake. The water shifts from blue to lilac, with warm red reflections near the buildings. Distant hazy purple mountains sit under a bright blue sky with soft white clouds, in a richly detailed, realistic illustration style.
