A tall lilac plume of small mauve florets stands at the centre of a square composition, its brown stem rising from the bottom edge. To the right, a purple three-petalled spiderwort bloom with yellow stamens sits above a drooping yellow bell flower with veined petals.
Long green blades and slender leafy stems cross the frame from both sides. Scattered pink petals and faint pink sprigs drift across the pale cream background, which has visible brushed texture like plaster. The style is a detailed botanical illustration with soft muted greens, mauve and a single warm yellow.
