About London Tower Bridge
The photograph is taken from the deck of Tower Bridge, looking along the roadway towards the near tower. Blue painted suspension cables sweep in from both edges of the frame and meet the pale stone Gothic tower, whose arched windows glow warm gold against a clear twilight sky that grades from deep blue at the top to soft teal near the horizon. Long-exposure streaks of white and amber traffic light run down the centre of the road, and blurred pedestrians move along the footpath at right.
The character here is movement held still: sharp stone and steel against smeared light and ghosted figures. Cool blue dominates, warmed only by the lamps and the tower's lit interiors, giving the image a calm, blue-hour quality rather than a busy postcard look.
