A single deciduous tree stands in the centre of a square frame, its canopy rendered as a dark chocolate-brown silhouette. Fine branches fan out from a slim trunk, and the leaf clusters break into small ragged edges that read clearly against the lighter background.
The ground behind has the weave of coarse burlap, washed in mustard, tan and muted grey. Pale yellow grass strokes rise in thin lines behind the tree. At the base, two soft hills in dusty terracotta run across the bottom, giving the scene a low horizon and a warm, earthy, slightly worn look.
