A square white lighthouse tower stands on the right of this black and white photograph, set back from the water on a low rise. A small metal railing surrounds its base, and a dark window marks the upper face. Beside it, a heap of angular rocks forms a short breakwater that slopes down to the beach.
The foreground is a wide bank of fine pebbles that sweeps from the bottom right corner towards the left. Small waves ripple across the grey water, and a few dark boulders sit at the edge. A low, tree-covered headland closes the horizon, while thin streaks of cloud fan across a soft, pale sky.
