Sailboats stand at their moorings on a wide, shallow tidal flat. One yacht with a tall mast sits left of centre, its pale hull and dark reflection streaking down into the wet sand. A small rowing dinghy rests at lower right, its bow line trailing. More masts rise along the far shore, thin and slightly crooked.
The sky is built from broad, scraped bands of turquoise and aqua that fade to cream near the horizon. A strip of deep blue water and rust-red banks sits behind the boats. The foreground is soft cream, grey and sandy gold with dripping vertical marks. The look is an abstract, loosely brushed seascape with visible layered texture.
