About Rainbow Zebra
A single zebra fills the right side of a plain white canvas, head turned straight to the viewer and neck sweeping down to the lower left corner. Every stripe that would normally be black is painted in colour instead: red, yellow, grass green, cobalt blue, magenta and purple run down the neck and mane, then narrow into fine bands across the forehead and muzzle. The nose stays a solid glossy black, and the two dark eyes are ringed with short coloured lashes. Ears are tipped with pink and orange.
The stripes are laid on in raised ridges of paint so they catch light along the neck, while the white background is left flat and empty. It is a bright, graphic animal portrait with a clean edge, more playful than wild.
Works in a kids' room, playroom or teenage bedroom, and holds its own in a white hallway or above a light timber sideboard. The empty white background suits minimal interiors, so it pairs well with plain walls, pale rugs and simple furniture that lets the colours do the talking. The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
