About Green Frog Pianist
A tree frog leans forward over a keyboard, its two front feet hooked across the white keys with the black keys running down to the lower edge. The body is built from flat patches of olive, moss and lime green, with a pale cream and white stripe along the flank and small dots of bright green across the back. Two round orange eyes sit high on the head, each with a black slit pupil ringed in turquoise. The background is plain dove grey, and a small signature reading "Kent" is painted at the right.
The paint is applied in broad, unblended blocks with visible brush edges, so the frog reads as a graphic shape rather than a study from life. The result is playful and bold, with the orange toes doing most of the talking against the grey and black-and-white keys.
Suits a music room or hallway beside an upright piano, a child's bedroom or a playroom, and works well in kitchens and studies with grey or white walls. The orange toes pick up rust cushions, terracotta pots or timber shelving, and it pairs happily with other square animal or pop art pieces in a grid. Browse more animal art, music art, pop art.
