A square landscape dominated by a tall mass of rounded trees on the right, their foliage built from soft clumps in olive, ochre and umber. A smaller, paler tree stands just behind it, and a rust-red shrub sits low at its base. The shapes are simplified and layered, giving the canopy a dense, sculpted look.
A meadow fills the foreground in bands of mustard yellow, orange and deep red, dotted with small blooms, finished with a dark green strip along the bottom edge. In the gap at the left a narrow strip of turquoise water sits below hazy tan hills. The sky is a flat, pale grey-blue with faint horizontal streaks, painted in a smooth, matte style.
