Large yellow and deep crimson flowers rise on long stems from the bottom edge of a square composition. Three yellow blooms sit at upper right, middle left and centre, while a burgundy flower with ragged petals fills the right of the frame and a darker red bloom sits low in the centre.
The background is a hazy wash of pale blue, grey and cream, with visible brushy texture and scuffed patches that read as a painted surface. Broad olive green leaves, a few black leaves and slim orange-red leaves cross the stems, and fine dark outlines trace some petals. The finish is soft and layered rather than botanical in detail.
