A large tree grows from the left edge, its trunk dark green and grey, its branches spreading across the upper half of the image. The leaves are broken into flat dabs of olive, ochre, rust and cream, with patches of pale sky showing through the canopy.
Beyond the tree a wide meadow runs to a low horizon, striped with bands of lime, yellow, emerald and teal where light and shadow cross the grass. The sky is lilac, grey-blue and white with small touches of pink. The surface looks like thick knife-spread paint, with scraped edges and layered strokes.
