A night photograph of the Melbourne CBD taken from the Southbank side of the Yarra River. The sky is solid black, and against it two towers stand out: one crowned with a blue-lit spire on the left, another with a red-lit mast at centre. Office blocks behind them show grids of small white windows. Lower down, the amber-lit facade and green dome of Flinders Street Station run along the north bank, with a church spire rising just behind the rooftops.

Across the middle of the frame the Evan Walker footbridge curves in a white lit arch, its cables catching the light, with a spiral tower at the right end. The dark water below carries long vertical reflections in gold, white and pale blue. The image is sharp and high contrast, city colour set against deep shadow, quiet rather than busy.
