A square wine label design reads "Merlot" in plum-purple script across the top, with "Grand Vin" in small capitals beneath. Further down sit "Chateau de Avril" and the year "1967" in olive-brown italics. Along the bottom edge are "Produit de France" and "750 ml", set like the fine print on a real bottle.
A cluster of plump purple grapes hangs from the upper right beside a large olive-green vine leaf, both casting a soft shadow onto the page. Behind them is a pale cream background with a gold engraving of trees and a faint hillside building. The lettering is plum and brown, the grapes carry a dusty bloom, and the paper looks lightly worn.
