About Autumn Orchard Stream
A narrow creek enters at the bottom edge and winds back through a broad field of olive and brown grass, catching pale light along its bends. Behind it stand rows of orchard trees in rust red and deep maroon, grouped in two clusters that frame an open strip of paler green field in the middle distance. Beyond the trees a low grey-mauve hill runs across the canvas, topped by a band of warm amber light where the sky glows above the ridge line.
The surface is worked in fine dabbed and flicked strokes rather than smooth blending, so the grass and foliage read as thousands of small marks. The character is quiet and dusk-lit, with warm reds held down by cool shadow across the lower field.
Suits a dining room, hallway or bedroom where the warm reds can sit against white, stone or soft grey walls. It works above a timber sideboard or a linen bedhead, and pairs well with brass lamps, wool rugs and other earthy landscape work. The wide format fills a long wall above a low bench.
