About Mountain Lake
The image splits into three bands. The upper half is a washed sky of soft grey and white with a faint blush tint low near the horizon and a darker grey smudge across the very top edge. Below it, low mountains appear as pale blue-grey silhouettes, thinned almost to mist, with one ridge rising a little higher on the right. The bottom third is water in deep indigo and navy, broken by horizontal streaks of teal, slate and small flashes of lime green.
Fine dark specks are scattered through the sky like drifting rain, and the water surface carries visible layered marks and mottled patches that read as ripples. Overall it feels quiet and weather-worn, a cold, still lake scene softened until the detail nearly disappears.
Works in a bedroom above the bedhead, a living room behind a grey or linen sofa, or a home office where a calm focal point helps. The cool indigo and grey sit well with white walls, pale oak, rattan and wool throws, and it suits coastal or beach house rooms without being a literal beach scene.
