About Nature Inspired II
A row of tulips fills the width of the image, their cupped heads sitting across the upper two thirds and leaning gently left and right. Petals range from pale blush at the tips to deeper rose in the shadowed folds, with a few near-white blooms tucked between them. Slim olive and sage stems run down into a loosely worked base of grey, ochre and soft green. The background is a scumbled wash of cream and pale grey, blurred so the flowers stay crisp. A small signature sits in the lower left corner.
The mood is quiet and airy rather than showy. Light seems to come from behind the blooms, giving the petals a faint glow and keeping the whole picture pale, warm and restful.
Suits bedrooms, guest rooms, bathrooms and dining rooms where the palette is already soft. It sits well above a bedhead, a hall console or a white-painted sideboard, and pairs with linen bedding, rattan, oak and brushed brass.
