About Octo
A single octopus fills the centre of a plain off-white field, its bulbous mantle tilted to the upper left and eight arms spreading and curling outward to the edges. The body is built from pooled washes of teal, sea green, ochre and warm sand, with charcoal blooms settling where the pigment has dried unevenly. Suction cups are suggested rather than drawn, appearing as pale gaps and small dark flecks along the undersides. Several arm tips taper into thin, looping hooks that float free of the body.
The character is loose and fluid: watery edges, granulating pigment and bare paper showing through, giving a quiet natural-history feel rather than a literal study. Nothing crowds the animal, so the shape reads clearly from across a room.
Suits coastal and beach house interiors, a bathroom or laundry with white tiles, a child's bedroom, or a home office wall above a timber desk. Works beside rattan, pale oak and linen, and pairs well with other sea-life or botanical prints in a row. The cream ground keeps it light against white or soft grey walls.
