A single open poppy is drawn in white against a solid, flat orange background. The bloom sits in the upper half, with four ruffled petals fanning out around a textured centre. Fine engraved-style lines run through each petal, showing the folds and creases in the paper-thin petals.
Below the flower, a thick stem rises from a cluster of deeply serrated leaves. Two curved stalks arch in from the left and right edges, one carrying a toothed leaf. The look is a reversed botanical engraving in two colours only, white and orange, with no shading or gradients. The edges of the white shapes are slightly rough, like an inked block print.
