A single red apple with yellow blushes hangs from a leafy branch that enters from the upper left. The fruit sits large and slightly off-centre, its skin shaded from deep crimson to soft gold near the stem. Green leaves with darker olive undersides fan out above and to the right, and a few small leaves sit on the left.
Behind the fruit is a textured, weathered ground in mustard, sage and dusty blue, with faint damask and paisley patterns showing through. Looping script reading "pomme" runs across the lower third, and faint French lettering sits near the top edge. Rough, darkened borders give it the look of an aged printed card. The medium is a digital composite of painted fruit and texture.
