A tall, elongated woman in Egyptian-style dress fills the centre of the picture. She has a wide cream bob with red bands and blue beaded drops, a lotus blossom headpiece and a large winged-bird pendant. Her face is turned toward the viewer with pale blue eyes, pink cheeks and red lips, and one hand rests lightly at her collarbone.
On the left, a horned owl with orange eyes perches on her raised hand, its brown, cream and rust feathers drawn in careful detail. Behind them, stylised lotus flowers on curving green stems sit against a deep navy background. A small orange sun, two pyramids and a band of blue zigzag water sit low on the peach ground. The flat shapes, fine line work and watercolour-style washes give it the feel of a decorative illustration.
