A bright, high-key photograph of an empty beach looking straight out to sea. The horizon sits just below the middle of the frame, and above it the sky fades from soft lavender-blue at the top to near white on the left, where the light is strongest.
Below the horizon the water is a pale aqua that turns slightly deeper in the middle distance. A thin line of white surf breaks along the shore, and the foreground is pale sand with a scatter of dark seaweed. There are no boats, people or buildings, only soft colour and open space.
