A wide, open sky fills roughly two thirds of this landscape. Broad, visible brushstrokes lay teal, soft violet, grey-blue and cream clouds across each other, with a pale pink patch in the top left corner. Near the horizon the cloud thins out into a band of warm butter yellow, giving the scene a calm, early or late light.
Below the sky, low dunes carry dark green clumps of scrub and a larger rounded bush-covered rise on the left. A thin channel of pale blue water winds between sandy ground in cream, ochre and rust, and a strip of blue sea sits behind the far trees. Vertical green and yellow strokes in the lower left suggest grasses. The look is a painterly, textured one.
