A rooster stands in profile on the right, its body cut into patches: a red and cream harlequin check across the chest and comb, a dark red damask panel on the wing, and black with gold scrolls on the belly. The black legs and claws end at a band of red polka dots along the bottom edge.
The tail on the left is a large black flourish of leaf-like scrolls against a cream ground with faint scuffed, aged texture. Script lettering reads "Le Coq" across the top and "Paris" beside the legs. The palette is limited to black, deep red, cream and touches of gold, in a flat graphic illustration style.
