Rounded stones in rust, brown and grey fill the lower third of the frame, each one wet and sharply detailed. They run from large boulders at the front to smaller pebbles nearer the water, leading the eye out to the sea. A few darker rocks sit half-submerged in the shallows.
A long exposure has turned the water into a smooth, milky teal haze. Past it, a band of orange and yellow glows along the horizon beneath a deep blue-green sky. A weathered rock stack stands on the right with its reflection below it, and a low flat reef lies on the left. The photograph has a slightly cool, graded colour.
