A curved bank of grey and white pebbles runs from the left edge across the lower half of the frame and tapers toward the right. The stones are sharp and detailed in the foreground, with a shallow pool in the bottom left where the water has blurred into a soft pale haze.
Beyond the shore the sea is smooth and milky, almost glassy, in bright turquoise and ice blue. The low sun sits left of centre and leaves a short pink and lilac reflection on the water. Streaked clouds above fade from deep blue to violet. The colours are heightened, giving this photograph a dreamy, long-exposure look.
