About Perth Subiaco Residences
A row of modern waterfront houses sits along a low sandstone retaining wall above still lake water. From the left, grey and white townhouses with pitched roofs and glass balconies step towards a narrow red-clad building, then a wide house with a zig-zag roofline and full-height windows. Leafy trees, some bare, break up the facades. A curved timber jetty runs out from the left bank and turns towards a red brick ramp and paved landing on the right, with a park bench and clipped hedges behind.
The sky is a flat, saturated cobalt with no cloud, and the water below carries soft mirrored streaks of blue, green and rust. Brushwork is tight and descriptive on the buildings and jetty planks, looser and more horizontal across the water. The overall character is bright, orderly and sunlit, a calm suburban waterfront on a clear winter morning.
Suits a living room or dining room with white or pale grey walls, where the strong blue sky can carry the room. Works over a sideboard or a low bookshelf, and sits well with timber furniture, linen upholstery and brass or black metal fittings. A good choice for Perth homes or anyone with a lakeside connection.
