A weathered timber pier cuts diagonally through the right half of the frame, its railing and grey decking leading the eye toward the horizon. The boards are muted and silvery, with the handrail catching a pale highlight along its top edge.
On the left, a long green-teal wave breaks with a thin line of white foam, then slides across smooth, milky water that looks softened by a slow exposure. The sun sits low under layered clouds, spreading yellow, apricot and faint mauve across the sky in a gentle, hazy glow.
