A long concrete pier runs from the left edge towards the right horizon, its deck held up by rows of square pillars that shrink in size with distance. Street lamps stand along the walkway at regular intervals, and a single dark bird perches on the deck rail near the middle.
The water is a long exposure, smoothed into soft, milky streaks that wash across wet sand and carry faint reflections of the pillars. The sky is an even, pale blue haze with no clouds. The photograph is toned in cool blue and grey, with muted brown-mauve in the pillars and sand.
